Dr. J.O. Makanjuola is a Specialist in Endodontics and Conservative Dentistry. Prior to his present employment, he worked as a full-time Consultant in private practice. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Restorative Dentistry, College of Medicine, University of Lagos and is a locum Consultant in private practice.
He is a performance-driven individual, with a career history which showcases a flair for the mentoring of junior colleagues, as well as a passion for high-quality dental service delivery.
Dr. Makanjuola graduated from King’s College in 2000 and obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Lagos in August 2007. He did his housemanship in Lagos University Teaching Hospital and went on for his youth service in Jigawa State. He further went on to pursue his postgraduate studies in the Conservative Dentistry Unit of the Restorative Dentistry Department, LUTH in February 2010, where he completed his residency training in record time and obtained his fellowship from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in May 2016. He has been a LOC member of scientific committees and was the former Publicity Secretary of Nigerian Dental Association, Lagos State Branch; between 2010 and 2012.
Dr. Makanjuola has trained several resident doctors and private dental practitioners as a resource person and facilitator/trainer during hand-on workshops. His great interest in research has resulted in his delivery of several presentations at local and international (Cape Town, South Africa and San Francisco, USA) conferences and publications in both local and international journals. His special interest in rotary endodontics has earned him an award both at the national level and as the Faculty’s Best Researcher in the Unilag Annual Conference.
Dr. Makanjuola enjoys Singing (Music), Reading, Networking & Watching movies, sports and documentaries. He is happily married with 3 children.
