Most dentists coming on this course are either already practicing Private Dentistry or are dentists wishing to move to Private Dentistry. However, this course is aimed at any dentist wishing to improve their clinical work and invest more time into understanding occlusion, stabilising and improving the patients teeth and well-being.
The Restorative course consists of a mixture of lectures, demonstrations and practical sessions. It is 60% theory and 40% practical. On the majority of course days there will be a lecture in the morning and a practical session in the afternoon.
The theory is based on reading material provided to you within the e-learning page on the website. This will be available to you up to 4 weeks prior to the specific course module. The theory is based on scientific articles hand-picked by Professor Tipton. Reading material is required for most course days and the time investment in reading may vary for each module. All reading material is essential as Professor Tipton may refer back to specific points during the course.
Yes. BARD delivers exams at the end of every module to test the competence of delegates prior to awarding certificates or diplomas.
Also, expect MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) and Case reports. There will be an exam at the end of each module.
Course Dates: TBD.
The PG Diploma in Restorative Dentistry teaches you the theory behind Restorative Dentistry, lets you get confident with your tooth preparation techniques and then provides you with the tools to understand, plan and deliver high quality private Aesthetic Treatments. The skills you will learn will give you the confidence to perform complex aesthetic tasks, which is a very lucrative niche. The three components of the course complement each other perfectly. You will taught the theoretical foundations developed over many years in the forms of scientific papers. You will then take the knowledge gained in fundamental areas such as Occlusion to ensure that the Aesthetic treatments you provide do not fail. The theory that you are taught will fit perfectly when you prep teeth on Phantom Heads.
The PG Diploma in Restorative Dentistry is essentially the best way of getting into the higher end of providing private aesthetic treatment and managing different patient cases confidently. You can choose any options you feel suitable as Tipton Training has a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy which will ensure that your existing education within another Tipton Training course is taken into consideration. Every time you do a PG Diploma or a PG Certificate you must pay additional registration fees. So, should you choose to register for each course separately, you are paying 4 registrations fees. The flip side is you also get 4 certificates. It all depends on what your ambitions are.
